Why wasn’t my patient auto-roomed?


If you are unsure why your patient was not auto-roomed, CHIME has a new feature where the reason that a particular patient has not been auto-roomed has been “surfaced” (i.e. made visible). This was added so that users can easily access and understand why a patient was not auto-roomed by CHIME.

You can view the reason that the patient was not auto-roomed by either (1) hovering over the patient (top images) or (2) by clicking on the patient (bottom image).

Some of the reasons why patients may not be auto-roomed:

  • Patient arrived really early to appointment

  • MD is running really behind and patient would need to wait in the room for too long (“too long” set specifically for each clinic)

  • No rooms available / rooms need cleaning

  • MD is not working / seeing patients on-site

  • There are too many patients ahead of this patient in the queue to be seen
